세상을 향한 하나님의 목적을 언약으로 읽다!

성경을 잘 이해하려면, 언약들의 연관성과 언약들이 성경에서 하나님 나라의 이야기를 어떻게 진행해 가는지를 살펴볼 필요가 있다.

본서는 구약의 다섯 가지 언약인 창조 언약, 노아 언약, 아브라함 언약, 이스라엘의 언약, 다윗 언약과 신약의 한 가지 언약인 새 언약을 언급한다.

이 언약들은 성경 메시지의 조화와 통일성을 보는 데 도움을 주며 구속사 과정을 추적하는 데 중요한 역할을 한다. 이 구속사는 하나님이 인류에게 구속을 베풀 것이라는 약속을 중심으로 한다(창 3:15). 인간을 창조할 때에 하나님을 위해 세상을 통치하라는 하나님의 목적은 예수 그리스도와 그에게 속한 모든 자에게서 성취될 것이다. 또한, 보편적인 축복에 대한 약속은 새 창조에서 성취된다. 왜냐하면, 구원이 예수님의 속죄 사역을 통해 이제 모든 지파, 언어, 사람, 민족에게 도달하기 때문이다(계 5:9).

세상을 향한 하나님의 목적이라는 큰 그림을 ‘언약’이라는 창문으로 바라볼 ë•Œ 깊은 통찰을 제공할 것이다.

토마스 R. 슈라이너

미국 Western Conservative Baptist Seminary(M. Div., Th.. M.)와 Fuller Theological Seminary(Ph. D.)를 졸업하였으며, 현재는 Southern Baptist Theological Seminary의 신약해석학 교수로 재직 중이다.

역자소개:

서울대학교(B. A.)와 총신대학교 신학대학원(M. Div.)을 졸업하였으며, 미국 Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary(Th. M.)를 마친 후, 남아프리카공화국에 있는 University of Pretoria에서 박사학위(Ph. D.)를 취득하였다.

칼빈대학교 구약학 교수였으며, 현재는 월간 「원문과 설교」 구약 분야 편집 및 집필을 담당하고 있다.
