About the Schlachter translation
The Schlachter Bible was the first German translation of the twentieth century and was published first in 1905. The Bible of Franz Eugen Schlachter was revised in 1951 by the Geneva Bible Society. Its characteristics are a fluid language and a great fidelity to the Hebrew and Greek texts. A new revision of the whole Bible on the base of the original texts of the Reformation was finished in 2002.
